Tahiti 2005

  • In February, 2005 a scientific party departed from Papetee, Tahiti to sail into the roaring forties and fearsome fifties to hunt for 55 million year old sediment. These are my favourite pictures of more than 300 taken documenting this adventure.

Tag you're it! Time to answer another book meme. The questions are on my blog. (but you don't have to answer if you really don't want to)

1) Oh man I love your blog

2) I am also from an Itsy Bitsy spider family.

3) And a little bunny foo foo family.

4) Not to mention ... On top of spaghetti! All covered with cheese! I lost my poor meatball! When somebody sneezed!

(All the exclamations reflect the fact that we mostly shouted this song. Ahem.)

5) I am scared of sock knitting.

You don't know Little Bunny FooFoo? It's quite long, but it starts:
Little Bunny Foo Foo
hopping through the forest,
Scooping up the field mice
and bopping them on the head.

Then his Fairy Godmother appears and she says,
"Little Bunny Foo Foo,
I don't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice
and bopping them on the head.

I'll give you 2 more chances, and if you don't behave, I'm going to turn you into a goon!"

And on it goes, Little Bunny Foo Foo continues his naughty behavior and is turned into a goon. The moral of the story is "Hare today, goon tomorrow."

Actually, I do have a friend who sings "Eensy Weensy Spider" while I'm more of the "ITsy Bitsy Spider" school. Both work, though :-)

P.S. I have yet to knit a pair of socks. I feel like it's some sort of a knitter's milestone I should complete. I wonder if baby booties count?
